Spacetime is a new way to locate people on a map WITHOUT forcing them to install an app. WHY DID I MAKE THIS? ================================================================ There are a zillion apps that claim to find your friends. I tried them all and they had 3 big problems: 1. They force your contacts to download an app, register an account, etc. Spacetime works even if your friends don't have the app! 2. They force your contacts to share their location 24/7, which is creepy. I don't need to know all my friends' locations 24/7, I just want to know where a particular person is right now. That's what Spacetime does. 3. They drain your battery by tracking your location 24/7. Spacetime does not drain your battery because it does not run in the background. So I built spacetime for myself, in my spare time. It's not a company or a startup. It's just a fun project that I have enjoyed making. I hope you find it useful. HOW IT WORKS ================================================================ With Spacetime, you request someone's location by sending them a TEXT MESSAGE. This message has a link in it for them to click on. They don't even need an iPhone. Any smartphone should work. After your contact clicks the link, Spacetime shows YOU their location on a map. That's it! NOTE: If their location changes, you need to send a new location request. Spacetime does not track anyone's location in the background. IOS 4 USERS ================================================================ I'm sorry that Spacetime does not work on iOS 4. I am working on a new version that will support iOS 4. Stay tuned! Location Accuracy ================================================================ Spacetime does its best to get the most accurate location possible, but sometimes it's not possible to get an accurate location. Sometimes you will try to locate someone and it won't work. This can happen for a million reasons: your contact has location services turned off, or they have a broken GPS chip, or they are out of cell phone service range, etc. etc. I'm sorry but in these situations, Spacetime can't tell your their location if their phone doesn't even know it! Most of the time, it should work. CRASHING / BUGS ================================================================ Spacetime works fine for most of the thousands of users who use it every day. However, sometimes software crashes happen. If you experience a crash or a bug, PLEASE email me [ spacetime@aaroniba.net ]. I will try my best to figure out why the app crashed and fix the problem.
