No data collection or spying. How It Works: Configure your start time using Start Time (clock time) or Time Remaining (e.g. 5 min to start). Mark your starting line by entering WGS84 coordinates or capturing points as you sail past markers. The app calculates your optimal approach using GPS, showing: - Closest Point (CP) on the starting line with distance, bearing, and optimal speed - Line Crossing Point (LXP) based on your current course - Visual speed indicators (speed up/slow down) - Color-coded timing indicators (early/late) Additional Features: - Large landscape mode for key data - Adjustable target margin to the starting line - Screen keep-alive on critical screens - Calculation of Speed Towards CP (speed-component) - Quick +/- 5-second adjustments to Start Time - Poor GPS data quality indicated in UI - Also works when device is offline or in Airplane Mode - Light and dark mode support - Contextual help on all screens This app balances sophistication with simplicity. Whether you're racing a skiff close to the line or timing a large yacht's offshore start, you'll have the right data at hand. Note 1 - precision: The precision of the app data is inherently limited by the precision of GPS / location services of the iOS device. Precision might vary over time and will be impacted by factors such as reception / placement of the device, free horizons, speed, course stability and RF interference. Calculation algorithms in the app have been developed for general use but might not fit your conditions perfectly. When preparing the start, try to get a feel for what precision you are getting under your specific conditions. Note 2 - battery: For the app to be available exactly when you need it and with best possible location precision, there is a screen keep-alive functionality in this app. This functionality is active if the device is plugged in to a power source or when battery level is more than 20% and not in Low Power Mode. Note that this type of use will drain your battery faster than normal, especially on high-brightness settings. Exit the app or turn off the screen when you do not need it. Note 3 - seamanship: The intended use for this app is as a supplementary aid when starting in a sail race. It is not a navigation tool.
