The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is home to world famous mummies! This is NMEC - the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and is one of the most unique museums in the world and one of the most famous attractions of Cairo in Egypt. The basement of the museum follows the design of the Valley of the Kings in Thebes and is home to some of the world-famous mummies. The museum has a purpose-built area to preserve the following 18th Dynasty mummies in climate-controlled rooms. The museum holds the most comprehensive collection of art works from both the Coptic Period and Islamic period of Egypt.
